Killing the Lich

Attendance: Durendal, Azarra, Whitecat, Shorty

We learn that the necromancer was actually a Lich with necromancy skills. We go back to the city and then see a meteor go across the sky and land to the far East. We go with Petros to check out the meteor. It takes us two days to reach the place. We see a campfire near where the meteor landed. Whitecat sneaks ahead and sees 11 goblins. We attack the goblins. After killing most of the goblins, the rest run away.

Durendal sends his bat out, and the bat sees a figure in the center of the campfire like ring, surrounded by a circle of flames. As we contemplate leaving, the flaming circle appear to open up and we see an Efreeti. Azarra charges and does a power attack on Efreeti. Shorty casts mirage and creates 5 images of Azarra. Azarra attacks again and fumbles, hurting herself severely, knocking herself unconscious.

Durendal heals Azarra for 9 hit points. Shorty casts mirror image on Durendal. The Efreeti attacks Durendal, but misses because of the mirror images. Azarra attacks again and finally does a fatal blow. Just before dying, the Efreeti begs for mercy and says he will grant us three wishes. Azarra kills the Efreeti anyway.

The Efreeti vanishes and in his place, there is a bottle. There is also a necklace nearby. Petros begins to attack Durendal, but he misses because of the mirror images. Shorty casts a fireball spell attacking Petros. Azarra attacks Petros and cuts him in half.

Petros had a staff and a spell book with a lock. The necklace does -10 damage reduction, plus something else which we could not figure out. The staff is a +1 attack and +1 damage. The spell book is still unidentified.
