The Lyches and the Guardians

Attendance: Dragon, Moerderin, Azarra, Baggles, Qualin

We enchant our weapons on the magic alter. Dragon puts his teeth on the altar and goes unconscious. Azarra heals him.

We continue traveling through the dungeon and come upon 3 lyches. The lyches cast fear. Baggles, Qualin and Moerderin succumb to the spell and drops to their knees cowering in fear.

Azarra shoots one of the lyches and melts its face off, completely incapacitating it. She shoots the second lych and melts its leg off.

Dragon breathes on the lyches, but it doesn’t do any damage. Azarra attacks another lych and incapacitates it by melting its left thigh.

Dragon bites the last lych alive, and kills it, but becomes diseased in the process.

Azarra casts smite, but it is dispelled in a barrier around the lych. Moerderin casts plasma blast and blasts a hole right through the lych.

We find 150 spell points left in the lych’s staff.

We continue traveling through the tunnels and find a room. We find nothing in the room and continue through the tunnels. We enter another room and find three cockatrice (demon/dragon).

 

Qualin instantly becomes a statue, whereas the rest of the group wards the magic off. Azarra shoots an arrow which shatters on contact. Azarra then casts smite and the cockatrice shrieks in pain.

Dragon breathes his electric breath on the cockatrices and all three shriek in pain. Azarra casts smite and obliterates two of the cockatrices. They crumble to dust. Dragon kills the last cockatrice.

We hear a voice, “You have defeated the three guardians, now step on the platform if you dare.” Dragon and Azarra step on the platform and get +5 resistance. Qualin steps on the platform and dies.

Since we don’t have time to resurrect Qualin, we continue ahead and find three wraiths. Azarra swings her macil and kills one of them. Moerderin and Dragon attack, but cannot hit the wraiths. Azarra kills the other two wraiths as well.

There is a pool of lava in the center of the room. Moerderin swims in the lava, but doesn’t find anything in it. We wait out the week here while we are resurrecting Qualin.
