Battle in valley en route to Mt. Doom

Attendance: Dragon, Moerderin, Azarra, Whitecat, Rune.

We docked on an island with a volcano. We began hiking towards the volcano, choosing a route through the valley. The valley was occupied by giant sheep and we quickly encountered a giant, two-headed ettin (a big, but not very intelligent creature). The ettin had 17 goblins in front of it armed with arrows.

An ettin (this monster is 20 ft wide!):

Azarra tried to sneak upon the ettin, but was quickly sighted. Dragon was immediately hit with arrows and sustained some serious damage to his chest.

Rune immediately charged the center. He knocked the ettin down, but was attacked and went down himself. While unconscious, Rune sustained a great deal of damage by the goblins.

Rune and the ettin are no longer down. Whitecat has finally moved into the battle scene and Moerderin has charged the middle. Dragon is attacking both the ettin and the goblin archers.

Azarra successfully sneaked up to the ettin and rendered his right arm limp and did serious damage to his body.

After Dragon, Moerderin, Whitecat and Rune are doing serious damage to the ettin and killing some goblins, some of the goblins began to run away.

Moerderin and Rune have both sustained substantial damage, but are healed and bodies are searched.

We found only 100 gold, but no weapons.
